Rock: There are few bands or music artists in the world with the same prestige as The Eagles, who sold 200 million records worldwide, 100 million records in the U.S. alone and have the first and third bestselling albums of all time. The band created a new sound during the '70s known as "California rock," and recorded several hits such as "One Of These Nights," "Hotel California" and "Take It Easy." The Eagles' nine-year run of massive success ended in 1980, but members Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh and Don Henley enjoyed successful solo careers before reuniting in 1994 for a live concert on MTV titled "Hell Freezes Over," a nod to a 1980 quote by Henley following the band's hiatus, and a two-year tour.
