A person was found dead today following a report of a shooting near Highway 111 in La Quinta. Deputies responded at 1:50 a.m. Monday to the 78-000 block of Highway 111 in La Quinta to a report of a shooting, a Riverside County Sheriff's Department representative told City News Service. "Upon arrival, deputies located a deceased subject," according to the sheriff's department. "The Riverside County Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation." Authorities were investigating the shooting Monday and no other information was immediately available.
