As a part-time resident of La Quinta, I remain puzzled by the relentless call for more regulation, more enforcement and more intrusion into other people's lives by those who are so adamantly opposed to our city's short-term vacation rental policies. This refusal to abide by the will of the voters is a piece with the times we live in. Demand a vote and then ignore it when you lose. There was a vote on Measure A's total ban November – the opponents of STVR were defeated, and yet the arguing goes on.
